The Future of Fashion - 2146 Words

â€Å"My predictions on the future of the world fashion industry 20 years from now.† Essay Joris Rotsaert M2Ei ___________________________________________________________________ So, according to an ancient prediction of the Maya’s, the world is going down in 2012. But best case scenario: we will still be here 20 years from now, how will that world look like, How will fashion look like in 20 years from now? In my opinion the future of fashion and the earth in general will be more efficient, greener, socially better and will have an entire new mindset on how we look at and consume fashion. How will this fashion look like in 20 years from now? People who say: fashion is death, are just doom-thinkers. I do feel we are now†¦show more content†¦In my opinion, it is nonsense to claim that sustainable fashion in any case will be more expensive, because ‘sustainable’ is not a product. It is just a way to approach fashion. In the long run, we will not have this choice, sustainable will be just a word and not a stamp on a piece of clothing anymore. How is that for the future ? How sustainable can we become ? Is it realistic to strive for an immortal world or were the Maya’s right and is ‘the end of the world’ unavoidable ? Sustainability in fashion will be all about full transparency and a growth in technology. Sustainability will no longer be an option or a free choice but a lifestyle with rules and regulations. The environment is that much damaged by humanity that everybody is obligated to live life sustainable. Sources of energy and raw materials getting lost or becoming scarce, which means that we are forced to create substitutes. This will lead to an increase in creativity. When you lack something it always forces you to come up with a creative solution, history has though us that. Fashion and the popular culture/entertainment industry cross boundaries more often than not. This is not a new phenomenon. But high fashion and Hollywood are not necessarily a match made in heaven.
